Auction for TIBETAN MOMO MAKING LESSONS WITH NYIMA DOLMA

TIBETAN MOMO MAKING LESSONS WITH NYIMA DOLMA

Donated by Nyima Dolma and Asia Garden, Clement Town

Nyima, ( pronounced quite closely to Nee-ma) is the bubbly, energetic brand new TCEF board member. She is a mother of two. Both she and her husband love to cook Tibetan food. In India, they run a Tibetan restaurant called Asia Gardens. MOMO(s) are the favorite dish of Tibetans. You may broadly think of them as dumplings or potstickers - but Momos are so much more. They are a culture and class by themselves. It is what brings smiles on Tibetans, it is what brings families together!

With her restaurant business, Nyima and family may have cooked millions of momos. Thanks to Zoom ( and Nyima), you can learn this from the comfort of your own kitchen. We will make it simple to learn, provide ingredient and equipment lists in advance, so that on the day of the lesson you can roll up your sleeves and make momos with Nyima. Tibetans cook most of their momos in steamers. So if you have a small bamboo steamer, that would be excellent. If you don’t, no worries. Momos can also be cooked in a covered pan. Zoom meeting with Nyima and bid winners will be arranged through TCEF.

Nyima is excited about helping TCEF and doing this momo making lesson. Watch teaser video
